Mike BakerMBi Sports Management was founded by Mike Baker. Mike has experienced and observed powerful lessons from sports and studied its relation to performance, both mental and physical and brings that success to the professional workplace. He began his higher education at San Bernardino Valley College in Southern California. He then attended the University of Nevada Reno on a baseball scholarship. There he focused his studies in Physiology of Exercise and was also drafted by the Boston Red Sox. In his first professional season he was the team's MVP. Mike has played throughout the United States and also traveled abroad to play and teach the game of baseball as a USA Baseball Ambassador. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Nevada Reno and Guilford College where he is currently completing a double minor in Sports Administration and Sports Marketing. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and a Lifetime Member of the Professional Baseball Players of America.

Mike is having a positive impact on clients by utilizing his years of experience and relationship building with other professionals. He really appreciates the opportunity to make a difference in athletes lives by guiding them through the process of change from amateur status to a professional. He resides in Greensboro with his beautiful wife Sandy, their two wonderful children, Courtney and Cody, and their new Bernese Mountain Dog...RENO! R. Tony Hill

R Tony HillA lifelong resident of High Point, North Carolina, Tony Hill obtained his degree in Furniture Manufacturing Technology from Guilford Tech in 1968 and his AB degree from Greensboro College in 1971. He graduated from University of South Carolina School of Law in 1974. He has been in private practice since 1974 with an emphasis in personal injury, tractor trailer accidents, wrongful death, worker's compensation, and traffic matters.

Tim L. Baker, CIMA - President & CEO

Tim L. BakerIn 1997, Tim founded Baker Capital Advisors, Ltd., a wealth management office providing financial guidance to families and fiduciaries. Through his career of more than twenty seven years, Tim has carved a special niche in working with retirement plan assets and families representing the medical community.

An active member of the Investment Management Consultants Association and the International Association for Financial Planning, Tim has received top industry awards and honors in recognition of distinguished services to clients, high levels of professional performance and exemplary levels of success in leadership. Among them, Tim holds the prestigious designation of Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA). Tim is a Registered Representative with NFP Securities, Inc.

He enjoys frequent speaking engagements before corporate executives, medical professionals, civic groups, and others. He publishes a quarterly newsletter, The Financial Guide Post, writes a Quarterly Market Commentary, and has penned articles on financial matters for other publications, as well.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Tim has been lead Chairman of Piedmont Friends for Charity while also serving on other corporate advisory boards. He has been an advocate and sponsor of Hospice events and many local charity golf tournaments.

His outside interests include golf (he was captain of the golf team at USC) jogging, meditation, yoga, travel, and reading. He is also an avid alumnus at university sporting events and academic affairs having served as president of area athletic and alumni chapters. Ken Carlyle - Southeast Region Scout

Ken Carlyle played in the Detroit Tiger and Atlanta Brave organizations from 1992 to 1999. He was drafted in the ninth round by the Cincinnati Reds in 1991 but did not sign. He was again drafted the following year, this time in the fourth round by the Tigers. During his eight professional seasons, he reached the Triple A level, and was a Double–A All Star in 1994. A business management graduate of the University of Mississippi, Carlyle is the Rebels all-time leader in pitching victories (27). Carlyle became the Head Baseball coach for Greensboro College (USA South Conference) in 2001. He lead his team for eight seasons, and finished with 5 straight 20 win seasons. In 2006, his team reached the USA South Championship game for the first time since 1998 while defeating eight ranked teams during the season. Carlyle has coached one All-American, two CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, seven All-Region, 33 All-USA South Conference, seven NCCSIA All-State honorees, one USA South Don Scalf winner and a regional Gold Glove winner. He was inducted into his high school’s Hall of Fame in 2006. Carlyle lives in Greensboro, NC with his wife, Leslie and two young daughters, Lily and Reagan.


Leslee Roper

Leslee Roper is a 21 year-old hailing from Maplewood, NJ. Leslee ventured down to Greensboro in the Fall of 2006 to pursue her education at North Carolina A&T State University as a Sports Science and Fitness Management major with a concentration in Business Administration. Now in her final semester of undergrad, she is preparing to take the next step and receive a graduate education in Sports Management. Leslee got her start in the world of sports during her freshman year in high school while playing on the freshman girl’s basketball team. After a knee injury Leslee discontinued play and began working as a team manager. She carried on her managerial skills to college and has been working as a student equipment manager for the past three years with the NC A&T Football team. Now as an intern for MBi Sports, Leslee is expanding her knowledge base while learning and engaging in the daily operations of a sports agency and being given the opportunity to work first hand at company sponsored events with both the staff and clients.
